Lifestyle - Why I Chose A Gemstone For My Wedding Ring

I've never been one to fit any kind of "mold", and it has taken me a very long time to realize the beauty in that. I went through a phase in my teenage years where I decided that when I married, I would have a diamond ring in a princess cut. I'm not exactly sure why, but my best guess of how my thought process was at that time was that I was thinking brides are supposed to feel like princesses, and what better cut of diamond than one named after that? Something beautiful happened before I became married, though. I had already started my journey of self-discovery and love and finding things out about myself that made me one of a kind. My relationship in and of itself is actually one of a kind. If you are unfamiliar, you can read about it here.  Just as our relationship was (and is) unique, I now had a personal understanding that the symbol of that relationship needed to be unique as well. A simple princess cut diamond was not going to do it for me. One day while we were looking at rings in a shop, a specific case caught my eye. It was a natural stone collection, and I knew at that point wholeheartedly, that my ring quest now became narrowed down to that. After multiple searches, I finally found "the one." It was a stunning rose gold ring with tiny diamonds along the simple setting and featured a Morganite gemstone. I fell head over heels for it as soon as I saw it, but it wasn't until after I decided it was "the one", that I realized how much it truly was meant for me. Isn't she absolutely beautiful?

If you aren't familiar with Morganite, it is a beryl variety gemstone, cousin to more familiar beryls such as Emerald and Aquamarine. How fitting for me, as my birthstone is an Emerald! I also found in my research that the beautiful peachy-pink stone is relatively rare, as well as extremely durable and affordable. As far as it's uses and meaning, it is known as the Crystal of Divine Love that brings healing, compassion, and assurance to the owner. It has a gentle energy that attunes to the Heart Chakra and cleanses the body of emotional stress, anxiety, and trauma. It also encourages loving thoughts and actions and being receptive of love from others. In my eyes, this was the perfect energy to have towards my marriage, as well as in daily life. This ring is romantic and vintage in style, and I just love that about it. It is unconventional and full of personality, just like me.
